Acts 1:8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
Throughout the history of the New Testament church are examples of how believers of means helped provide for those in need. The command has been issued to let our light shine so that mankind would see our good works and glorify God. Philanthropy has grown in society but ours is not a social gospel; however, the gospel of the kingdom does have social implications. To approach this correctly, we examine the scriptures for guidance. We are to do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith, “… distributing to the needs of the saints …”. We show our love for God and also demonstrate our faith in God by the works we do, and this includes caring for our brothers and sisters in the faith. And we are to show love and concern for those who are without. We are able to show love and concern, contributing to those who are outside of the faith, so that God is pleased. Finally, the concern for those without the refreshment of clean water that is suitable for human consumption was specifically addressed by our Lord (and that’s where our team comes in) …
We will share the water of this world and the water of the Word, even the Word that is able to save souls.
