In John 9, Jesus anointed the eyes of a blind man with clay and told him, “Go, wash in the pool of Siloam” (John 9:7). The man obeyed, and he returned seeing. Siloam, which means “sent,” symbolized the power of faith in the One God had sent.
This miracle was not only physical but spiritual. As the man gained sight, he also confessed faith in Jesus as Lord (John 9:38). The Pool of Siloam points us to the truth that obedience to Christ opens the eyes of our hearts.
